Spring is in the air. If you live in a climate like I do, one day feels like Spring and the next, Winter again. It takes a little while for our weather to decide if it really wants to be a new season. The trees and plants are slowly waking from their long winter slumber. Moving their limbs and sprouting new buds takes work. I liken it to when I sit a little too long and my knees need some extra love and time to move freely again. I imagine this is true for most of us. Shaking off the dust of an old injury or memory, emerging from a long Winter; it can all feel a bit daunting at first. After you begin to move about again, things get easier.
I spend Winter thinking about how I might decorate for Spring. What I will bring in to brighten a room to remind it and myself, Winter is over for this year anyway. In the Winter the use of warm, amber lights brings a comfort to my soul. A carefully placed brass lamp can warm any dark space in the cold. Spring calls for color, blooms, life.
Any corner of any room would benefit from a new chair, a carefully chosen throw, a pillow, a small table, a colorful lamp. The options are endless. If buying is not in your budget, try moving things around. You never know what might look good in a corner unless you are willing to get up and try it. Take rugs from other spaces and swap. See how it feels. Humans do not love change, it can feel too out of control, but I have discovered over the years, change will do you good. It gives fresh perspective and insight into more than just the space you live in. You will be amazed at how the two are connected, you and your space.
I invite you to explore. Do what you can and call on us to curate a beautiful box for your space or loved one. We can help guide. You never know, it might start a rolling effect. Once you start, you may not want to stop.
